Europe 2020 is the name of the new growth strategy of the European Union, which outlines five ambitious objectives to be achieved by 2020 in terms of employment, innovation, education, social inclusion and energy (and the fight against climate change).

The three flagship initiatives of the 2020 strategy in the field of employment, social affairs and inclusion are:
Youth on the Move: This initiative aims to improve the prospects of young people in the workforce by helping students and trainees to gain experience abroad, and by strengthening the quality and attractiveness of the offer education and training in Europe.

A strategy for new skills and jobs: this initiative aims to give new impetus to reforms in the labor market, to help workers acquire the skills to job requirements of the future, create jobs and a thorough review of EU legislation in employment.

European Platform against poverty and social exclusion: this initiative aims to support the work at all levels to achieve the target set by the EU, which is to get at least 20 million people out of poverty and exclusion by 2020.
